Earth Day clean up
03-04-2021
In honor of Earth Day, Resource Recovery will once again be waiving disposal (tipping) fees on solid waste for those groups involved in a litter cleanup effort from March 6, 2021 to June 5, 2021. By waiving the fees to dispose of the litter collected by dedicated volunteers, we are able to help community groups who would otherwise be unable to conduct cleanups. To learn more, including full eligibility requirements, please visit our Earth Day Cleanup Page or contact our Municipal Program Coordinator at municipal@rirrc.org or 942-1430 ext. 252.  Looking to get involved with a cleanup?   Check out this calendar of RI cleanup events.

Maggie's Ride
09-20-2019
JOHNSTON, RI – On September 23rd, Let’s recycle RIght!, RI Resource Recovery’s award-winning public education campaign will conclude exactly the way it commenced, with a call for proper recycling. Leading the charge is Maggie Sheerin, an amazing young Rhode Islander and avid cyclist, set to journey across the state on her 7-day “RIde to Recycle RIght.” Along the way, Sheerin will visit businesses, institutions and municipal locations that have joined Resource Recovery’s commitment to decreasing confusion at the recycling bin. As one campaign wraps, another adventure begins!
