No one knows your residents like you do. Resource Recovery encourages municipalities to implement local programs that help residents recycle right, reduce contamination, prevent waste, reuse materials, and dispose of waste properly. When funding is available and approved by our Board of Commissioners, a competitive grant program is open to RI municipalities. Project-based grants applications are accepted twice per fiscal year and training grant applications are accepted on a rolling basis, both dependent upon the meeting schedule and approval by our Board of Commissioners.

The FY24 grant application period for project-based grants is now open. There is $100,000 of grant funds available, with grant applications due on July 19, 2023 and February 14, 2024 for tentative Board review in August and March, respectively.

Below, you'll also find the Municipal Grant Policy (updated May 12, 2021) that outlines funding priorities, eligibility and application requirements and the post-award process of reporting an reimbursement. You'll also find the application forms and report forms for both project-based grants and training-based grants and sample applications.
