School Visits and Presentations
Classroom teachers like you can request to have RIRRC educators visit your school and give a presentation about recycling, composting, and waste reduction. Each presentation is age appropriate and will be tailored for your group. There is no fee for this service; however we do have scheduling constraints with our educators. Visits and presentations should be booked at least two weeks in advance.
Classroom Visits
RIRRC educators are available to speak to individual classes, and each presentation can be tailored to your class’ interest. Please feel free to propose a special topic, but some popular topics are listed here:
- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: The Basics of the 3 Rs
- The First 2 Rs: Waste Reduction & Reuse
- What Goes Where? A Recycling How-To
- Recycling in Rhode Island: What’s Now, What’s Next
- Home Composting for Everyone
- Facing Your Future: A Presentation for Teens
MaxMan Presentations
MaxMan is RIRRC's friendly hero and educational recycling advocate. He helps all Rhode Islanders learn how to better manage their waste and recyclables. MaxMan presentations are available to groups of 50+ and are best appreciated by students in grades K-3, but he can present to older students on a limited basis. An RIRRC educator is often best suited for Grades 4-6, and back-to-back presentations are available to accommodate your entire school. MaxMan is also available for appearances at large events.
