Environmental Police Officers from the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management’s (DEM) Division of Law Enforcement (DLE), Rhode Island State Fire Marshal's Bomb Squad, and West Marine will hold a free expired safety flare collection event at the West Marine, 379 W Main Rd, Middletown from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20th. Boaters may bring their expired flares to this West Marine location for free proper disposal.  Note: This is a third-party event. E-Waste, Shredded Paper & Mobility Gear
New England Tech- 1 New England Tech Blvd.  The Rotary Club of East Greenwich is please to announce a shredding and electronic waste (e-waste) event open to all Rhode Island residents on Saturday, April 20th from 9:00am-12:00pm.  Drop off e-waste and shred confidential documents. There is a 3 box limit for shredding. Donations of mobility equipment to be refurbished will also be accepted E-waste pick up is available from Monday, April 15th- Friday, April 19th. Charges may apply. Please contact Harry Waterman at 401-515-2011 ext. 1004 or email  harryw@vartridgeworldri.orgfor scheduling.  Monetary donations will be accepted by the Rotary Club of East Greenwich and will go towards The Interfaith Food Cupboard at St. Luke's Church and the East Greenwich Rotary Charitable Fund. There is a suggested donation of $5.00/box of paper ($15.00 max) and $1.00 per e-waste item. Donations of non-perishable food to assist the veterans at Operation Stand Down RI will also be accepted.  PLEASE NOTE: This is a third party event. Rhode Island Credit Union will hold a free Community Shred Day at the Pawtucket Branch, 594 Central Avenue, Pawtucket, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20th, 2024. Everyone, including RI Credit Union members and non-members alike, are invited to take part in the event. Shredding is available for personal documents only – no business or commercial shredding.  To best serve all attendees, a maximum of 4 bags or boxes will be accepted.
